I’m so beyond excited to be starting an amazing new series on here where I interview those who I am inspired by. Today, we have the amazing Jessica Gill, head of the company ToBeMagnetic.
I go into detail about their work and why I love it in this post: Read it here
But just to refresh your memory: I’ve been a follower of To Be Magnetic for years. I even hosted founder Lacy Phillips in my living room, surrounded by a group of 14 women, all working to manifest our dreams. Today, I continue to practice the company’s “deep imaginings” meditations to grow and stay aligned with my worth. This month, I’ve joined their “Authenticity Challenge” to refocus my priorities for the new year.

To hear more about my journey in the ToBeMagnetic work listen to my episode of Expanded here: Expanded Podcast X Beth Behrs
I can’t thank Jessica enough for her honesty, authenticity and vulnerability in this interview! You are truly so expanding and inspiring, Jessica!
Beth Behrs Questionaire x Jessica Gill TBM
1. Let’s start with the big one: Authenticity is a word that gets thrown around
a lot. What’s your personal definition of living authentically?
Living in alignment with your own internal truth and soul’s purpose.
2. In your work with To Be Magnetic, you focus a lot on helping people
unblock limiting beliefs. What’s the first limiting belief you had to unblock
to show up as your authentic self?
The first major root limiting belief I Identified was not being good enough. I spider-webbed into so many places blocking my career, relationships, and financial success. In fact, I don’t think I even truly felt what it meant to love myself until I worked on unblocking this limiting belief.
3. Can you share one daily habit or ritual that keeps you grounded in your
authenticity—even when life gets chaotic?
In this season of my life, it is movement. On an ideal day that is a workout I feel intuitively called to, on a more chaotic day that is jumping for five minutes on my rebounder. Getting back into my body and out of my head had been huge to help me ground back into my authenticity.
Also, checking back in with my authentic code. If I haven’t prioritized with any aspects that day I know I am a bit off course. This year my words are Home, Inspired Sharing & Storytelling, Innovation & Creativity, and Wonder & The Beauty of Life.
4. What’s a funny or surprising moment in your own journey where you
realized you were being inauthentic? How did you laugh (or cringe) your way
back on track?
My fiancé works in music, and I remember going to these big networking events with him where all the movers and shakers of the industry attend. Since I didn’t work in music, most of the executives wouldn’t even give me the time of day. One time, I felt this overwhelming urge to prove myself as I saw someone’s attention start to fade during introductions.
In a panic, I decided to share some impressive metrics from a recent career win, hoping it would earn their respect. But the moment I started talking, I could feel my authenticity leave the room entirely—replaced by my desperate need to be liked, complete with flushed cheeks. I felt so disconnected from myself because deep down, I knew I was only sharing to be accepted.
It took a few rounds of the Driver’s Seat Deep Imagining to work through the shame and unpack why that part of me cared so much about what other people thought. It was a humbling but super insightful experience!
5. Many of our readers are exploring their own authenticity journeys. What’s
one practical piece of advice they can try this week to show up as their true
Selves?
Notice where you lie. Really notice – even those white lies to be polite. See each lie as a compromise of your truth and authenticity. It doesn’t mean you have to be brutally honest at all moments of the day but tune into the lies that feel particularly abandoning of self and try saying more of the truth.
6. To Be Magnetic is all about manifestation. How does authenticity play into
your manifestation process? Any “aha!” moments to share?
I have found time and time again that when I manifest things from alignment with my true authenticity, and my true soul’s desires, my manifestations are greater, more aligned, more fulfilling, and more magical than I could have ever imagined. I see authenticity as the superpower for connecting with my manifestations.
7. Quick authenticity check: What’s the most you thing about you that people
are often surprised to learn?
Probably that I have a very goofy side. Since I have a Capricorn Sun and Capricorn Stellium, I often present very practical, hard-working, and serious at times but around close friends and family I can be very goofy and playful - always coming up with little songs or skits, especially about our dog. Hahah 😂😂
8. We talk a lot about overconsumption and mindful living here at The Green
Mane Initiative. How do you think staying true to your authentic self ties into
living more sustainably?
I think the more authentic you are, the less you seek surplus to fill a void or satiate your tough emotions. Authenticity allows you to get clear on the pieces or items that light up your soul and to leave the rest.
9. If you could tell your younger self one thing about authenticity, what would
it be?
It isn’t something you become, it is something you reconnect with. You don’t need to look for it somewhere, you just need to follow the things that call to your soul. In the beginning, just listen for the whispers.
10. To wrap things up: For someone who’s just starting to explore their own
authenticity, what’s one book, practice, or mantra you’d recommend as a
jumping-off point?
The To Be Magnetic Authenticity Challenge of course! Use code JESSICA for 15% off. Or check out any of our recent podcast episodes around authenticity on Expanded. Speaking of, Beth we must have you back on to share your recent journey!
11. What are you currently reading? What’s on your nightstand?
We have an episode coming out with Martha Beck and I just finished her book The Way of Integrity. Phenomenal human and book. It is actually an incredible companion to the Authenticity journey – she echos so much of what we talked about today.
12. What’s a beauty product/clothing piece that you can’t live without, and
you consider it fully in your authenticity to have in your home/routine?
A high-quality oversized sweat suit. It feels so authentic and cozy - connects to my Home authentic code word by feeling soothing.
13. Favorite podcasts right now?
Expanded (duh), Human Design by Jenna Zoe to expand my spiritual side, Diary of a CEO by Steven Bartlett to expand my performance & strategy side, & Wholey Schmidt by Sarah Schmidt to expand my vulnerability side.
14. Favorite person to follow on social media?
Alex Cooper - she is incredibly innovative & authentic with how she connects with and creates content for her community.
